Anoop Desai - Always On My Mind - Live from Honolulu MP3

Anoop Desai opens his set on the American Idols Live! 2009 Tour with Always On My Mind. His background graphic are clouds. Woot.

I found Anoop to be very serious. I think this has something to do with him believing the tour is his "audition" for producers who might want to sign him to a label -- showcasing his worth as a pop act if you will. Unfortunately, he does the same three songs on the tour, and I don't think high profile producers scout Reality TV concert tours to find their next best thing. I think that Anoop would serve himself better by loosening up, and gear up for an indie career in music and/or pursue other opportunities in the entertainment industry like hosting or even Broadway.

Over the past few years, I've noticed that a majority of Idols get lost in the fanfare of two months of touring thinking that this is the beginning of their popstar-hood, but then get the shock of their lives when the tour is over and all the attention is gone.

Anoop is smart. I'm sure he's figured it out by now. But I'll write it down just in case he missed it: The most important asset he has is a captivated American Idol Season 8 audience. His job now is to keep them interested in him when the umbrella of Idol is gone. He can write songs now if that's his thing and record an indie album asap -- or after the tour, he should be immediately employed. For some reason, I find Anoop's voice to be perfect for the role of Benny in "In the Heights" on Broadway so I'm kinda partial to that. However, now that Kal Penn has decided work for Barack Obama, Anoop's best bet is to be the next Indian-American TV hunk.

@god please enlighten Cash Money to sign Anoop Desai. Thank you.

Thanks Lea for the MP3!
