Annie Awards 2016: 'Inside Out' Wins 10 Awards Including Best Animated Feature
The winners for the Annie Awards 2016 have been revealed, honoring the best in animation for the past year. Due to its major summer blockbust, Disney/Pixar has solidified its status as one of the most successful studios in Annie Awards history, as Inside Out has earned the top prize for Best Animated Feature.
Of course, that's not the only prize the subversive animated film won: Inside Out earned 10 awards in total, including Outstanding Achievement for Character Design in an Animated Feature Production, Outstanding Achievement for Directing in an Animated Feature Production, Outstanding Achievement for Music in an Animated Feature Production, and the aforementioned Best Animated Feature prize. It was a big night for Disney/Pixar, between the big wins for Inside Out and the surprise victory for The Good Dinosaur in the category for Outstanding Achievement, Animated Effects in an Animated Production. However, The Good Dinosaur is not nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars, and considering the lack of recognition for presumed top contender Anomalisa, it seems Inside Out has a clear path to Oscar gold. But nothing is set in stone just yet, so I guess we'll find out in two weeks. But until then, check out the list of winners for the Annie Awards 2016 below:
