Pitch Perfect 2 is moving forward. Not only is Elizabeth Banks directing the hotly-anticipated sequel, but two of the original film's stars will be returning to join her on the project.

Universal Pictures and Gold Circle has signed Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson to reprise their roles from Pitch Perfect for the upcoming sequel, which is scheduled to released on May 15, 2015. Of course, this means they'll also be back for the soundtrack, which is more money in the bank for the actresses, as the original featured the triple platinum single "Cups".

It should be interesting to see how the movie steps up the acappella arrangements, given that the form has seen a resurgence in recent years thanks to groups like Pentatonix, shows like The Sing-Off, and, yes, films like Pitch Perfect.
