Angie Miller Debuts New Single, 'Lost In the Sound' (LISTEN)

American Idol finalist Angie Miller is finally ready to release her EP, titled Weathered, on Nov. 12. The project was funded through PledgeMusic, a crowdsourcing music platform. But what are the fruits of all of Miller's labor, and her fans' contributions? Well, now is your chance to listen to "Lost In the Sound," the EP's debut single.

“'Lost in the Sound' is easily one of my favorite songs on Weathered,” Miller told The Hollywood Reporter. “ I love how hard and powerful the chorus hits, as well as the interesting melodies and grooves in the verses. But more importantly, I love how transparent I was in this song.”

Resulting from what Miller describes as "one of the hardest and most stressful times of my life,” the single is a lot less pop-flavored than one might have expected from the singer. But it's clear that Miller has grown since her time on Idol, and her work alongside Red Decibel producers Adam Watts, Andy Dodd and Gannin Arnold has given her an edge.

“When you listen to the verses you can clearly hear how I felt at that point and the choruses tell of how I got through that time of my life," Miller says of the single. "I would lock myself in my room and cry out to God for help. Getting 'Lost in the Sound' of God's peace was the only thing that truly got me through that time."

I really dig the track. It's like a cross between Evanescence and OneRepublic, and Angie's voice sounds absolutely terrific on it. I could easily hear this on the radio, and I could just as easily imagine this becoming a hit if it gets there. Color me surprised by how much I loved this.
