Angela Lansbury made her film debut in 1944 with Gaslight, a film that earned the future legend her first Academy Award nomination. Now, seven decades later, Lansbury is finally accepting a statuette for her amazing career. Angela Lansbury herself was on hand at the 2013 Governors Awards to accept her Honorary Oscar, awarded in celebration of a career that has brought the actress five Tony Awards, six Golden Globes, three Academy Award nominations, and a staggering eighteen Emmy nominations.
Lansbury fought back tears as she accepted her Oscar, hugging the statuette and regaling the audience with tales of her days coming up in the entertainment industry, and all the hard work involved.
