Andrea Faustini sings 'I Have Nothing' on The X Factor UK 2014 (VIDEO)

Andrea Faustini sang 'I Have Nothing' on The X Factor UK Live Show 7 on November 22, 2014.

I didn't love this, and I hate saying that. Given that he's spent more than half the competition singing big diva songs, this should have been a slam dunk. But this just didn't do anything for me, even while I can acknowledge that he hit the notes and mastered that daunting key change. The man has vocal talent for days, and I'm not exactly worried for his place in the competition, but this was the first Andrea performance I wasn't crazy about.

Maybe it's just a result of exhaustion with this song, since this Whitney vs. Elton theme might be the most exasperating theme any singing show has ever done (might as well just do "Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now) vs. Superstition" Week). But even without the theme, it's hard to imagine Andrea might not still have done something like this, and that distresses me, if only because I like to see Andrea branch out. The guy is far more versatile than he's getting the chance to show, both as a vocalist and as an onstage performer. Once again, I'm not exactly worried for his spot, but I just didn't feel the same love for this that the judges did. But I'm rooting for Andrea all the same.

But what do you think of Andrea Faustini?
