Andre 3000 as Jimi Hendrix in 'All Is By My Side' - First Look Clip - Video

The first clip of Andre Benjamin, better known as Andre 3000 of Outkast, in the role of Jimi Hendrix has surfaced. This one-minute clip from All Is By My Side, the Hendrix biopic that has been in development since half past forever, features the legendary guitarist's discovery by 20-year-old model Linda Keith (Imogen Poots).

All Is By My Side comes to us from John Ridley, the Oscar-winning screenwriter behind 12 Years A Slave. Unfortunately, because the Hendrix estate refused to lend its support to the development of the film, none of Hendrix's music will actually be featured, leaving the film to instead focus on Hendrix as a man first, and as a future legend second. While this should create a more natural, less deified portrait of Hendrix, it's kind of ridiculous that a Jimi Hendrix film won't actually feature any Jimi Hendrix music.
