Anderson Cooper Eyed As Replacement for Matt Lauer on 'Today'

Today has been on a perpetual downslide since the seemingly uncalled for ousting of Ann Curry. Why not throw Anderson Cooper into the mix to replace Matt Lauer?

Deadline is reporting that Today has eyed Cooper as the latest possible replacement for Lauer. Now that Anderson's second go at his own daytime talk show is coming to a close, this would make sense. Anderson Cooper is a great host. Issues with his current show could be solved entirely by implanting him in a previously solidified daytime T.V. setting, such as permanent chair on Today. Personally, I've seen Anderson Cooper at work behind the scenes a few times now, and he's genuinely a great guy, too.

What does Matt Lauer think? It was initially reported that Lauer's disapproval set the process of legitimately approaching Cooper back. However, TMZ is reporting that this is not the case. In fact, he'd be fine with Anderson Cooper replacing him. He'd be fine with Cooper replacing him some time in the future, as opposed to, say, right now.

What do you think? Is this legitimately a possibility or just hearsay?

By the way, Anderson Cooper knows Grumpy Cat, so...

So angry.
