Amy Adams Gives Up Her First Class Seat for a Soldier in Coach
Amy Adams definitely supports the troops, the actress gave up her first class seat on a recent flight to swap places with a U.S. soldier who was originally set to sit in coach.
According to a passenger (Jamele Hill, an ESPN2 co-host) who witnessed the exchange, Adams noticed the soldier while waiting to board a flight in Detroit and secretly organized the seat switch. As she explained of the switcheroo, "I noticed Ms. Adams was in first class and as I was getting seated, I saw the flight attendant guide the soldier to Ms. Adams' seat. She was no longer in it, but it was pretty clear that she'd given up her seat for him. I was incredibly impressed, and I'm not even sure if the soldier knew who gave him that seat. I guess he will now!"Ms. Adams did it so quietly and quickly that it speaks to her character," Hill would go on to add. "And somebody in coach just got a helluva seatmate!"
Apparently Adams did take a few moments to meet with the soldier near the cockpit.

"I didn't do it for attention for myself," Adams admitted when asked if she performed the good deed for the press. "I did it for attention for the troops."
Adams' father was a former U.S. soldier and Adams herself lived on an army base as a child.
