Amy Adams and Matthew McConaughey to Appear on 'Inside the Actors Studio'

You know Oscar season is in full swing when the nominees are making the media rounds. Great performances help, but good publicity helps just as much, if not more! And so it's a total no-brainer that nominees Amy Adams and Matthew McConaughey would appear on Inside the Actors Studio.

Adams and McConaughey, fresh off of Golden Globe wins for American Hustle and Dallas Buyers Club, respectively, will be appearing with host James Lipton on all-new episodes scheduled to air on back-to-back nights. The Amy Adams episode will air on Wednesday, February 19 at 8:00 PM ET/PT, with the Matthew McConaughey episode following on Thursday, February 20 at 8:00 PM ET/PT.

“The period leading up to the Oscars is always our busiest time of the year, possibly because so many of our guests have wound up holding the treasured trophy,” said James Lipton in the official press release. “This year is no exception. Bruce Dern's ‘Inside the Actors Studio’ episode has recently aired. Amy Adams’ episode and Matthew McConaughey’s episode will air on consecutive nights, February 19th and 20th.Three great new episodes and three great Oscar candidates. Our Actors Studio Drama School students will be cheering loudly and proudly on Oscar night.”

McConaughey is currently the odds on favorite for the Oscar win, while Adams is nipping at the heels of frontrunner Cate Blanchett, whose performance in Blue Jasmine has been the toast of awards season. Will the fifth time be the charm for Adams? Will the first time do the trick for McConaughey? We'll find out when the Oscars air March 2 on ABC. Until then, Adams and McConaughey should provide some really compelling insight into their Oscar-nominated roles, as well as their respective (and very different) careers.
