America's Next Top Model - Cycle 20 Episode 15 - Recap - Finale Part 1: The Finalists Shoot Their Guess Campaign

We're here! Finalists time on America's Next Top Model! The CW brings us the first part (yes, I did predict this split sort of in my last recap) of cycle 20's finale. The three finalists are excited to be here, but mostly they're excited that Chris is finally gone. The models are color-coordinated for their Guess shoot. Jourdan is in orange ("Smize Sunrise"), Cory is in red ("Fierce Fuschia"), and Marvin is blue ("Booch Blue"). The finalists also get a catwalk crew, a cheering section made up of this cycle's eliminated contestants! Cory gets Jiana, Kanani, Mike, Chlea, and Nina. Marvin gets Phil, Don, Jeremy, and Reneé. Jourdan guesses she'll get support from Nina and Jeremy, but right after she makes these guesses, those models come out wearing other colors. I almost feel bad for Jourdan, but if you treat people like trash for a whole season, maybe it's best to be taken down a peg. All she gets is Chris. She's clearly all salty over it, which is very satisfying.

On to the shoot! Cory is trying to pull out some masculinity. He's been pulling his androgyny all cycle, but Guess wants a manly model for this campaign. The photographer eliminated this notion, and Cory's pictures improved immediately. The photographer is actually really mean and I like him a lot! He yells at Marvin until Marvin starts posing more naturally. Then Jourdan's turn comes up and he starts yelling at the dude with the weird hates who is always at the photoshoots. Jourdan can't keep her leg up for the pose and Hat Guy suggests giving her a box or something to hold her leg up. The Guess photographer refuses hilariously.

Back at the house, we learn some more about the models and their home lives. Cory has a super supportive mom, which is just adorable. Cory came to this competition with an agenda, to forge his own path with hsi own image, to be an androgynous model and win anyway. Jourdan thinks she's so much older and cooler than she is, but that's what teenagers are like so no surprise there. She's so full of herself I can't stand it. Marvin of course just starts crying. His rags-to-riches story is so old at this point. I'm over it. Let's have Cory win, okay? Come on, show.

Next shoot is Nylon. We don't acually see much of the shoot itself, but it happens while all the models talk about the same stuff as before. A lot of the focus, thankfully, is on Cory. He's been having trouble trying to pull of masculine in his photos, but these fashion companies seem to want that out of him, so he's trying. He gets encouraging words from his competitors and from their photographer. I'm hoping he can pull it off!

The next feature of this episode is a fashion feature. I guess this means like... a commercial?? I don't know, it's this little movie thing. The plot of it is that Jourdan and Cory are dating. They have to make-out, which is hilarious because Cory is totally digusted by kissing a lady. Then there's this really not okay and totally screwed up part where they act out a scene of Cory beating Jourdan. This is made worse by the fact that Jourdan has abuse in her past. I'm really not okay with them doing this. Anyway, moving on. The next part has the bruised (oof, come on, that's too much, what in the world, how did that get approved) Jourdan going and falling in love with Marvin.

Sidebar: All right, listen. The fashion and modeling industries already have enough problems with women without using violence against them as some kind of screwed up sexy window dressing. That's all there is to say about that.

Okay back to the recap as usual! There's a runway walk to cap off the week. Before that, the judges give the catwalk crews an opportunity to switch teams, with a twist: $1,000 each to the winning model's supporters! The only person who switches is Mike, who becomes the second member of Jourdan's cheerleading squad. As the models dress, Tyra finally shows up. She has important news: SURPRISE ELIMINATION!!! That's right, only two of the three remaining models will actually be competing in this last challenge! I was like "Whaaaaat" and I tweeted a bunch of swears when this happened! Mind-blowing!

The other two judges walk on in. Social media loved Marvin, but the judges had some critiques. Not too harsh, but nothing is completely positive. Social media is also crazy about Jourdan, whose butt gets a bunch of kind words. The judges do the same. Cory gets kind words from Tyra even though the other judges aren't crazy. Here's the thing though... No scores have been shown! And the eliminated model... is being announced next week!

AAAAAAHHHHHH WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL NEXT WEEK this is going to be the longest week. This was a great episode. If they were all this full of content, there wouldn't be a bad episode of this show ever!! Check out the preview below!
