'American Psycho' musical to debut off Broadway in 2015

The American Psycho musical is coming to Off-Broadway in 2015. The musical debuted in London in December 2013 with music composed by Duncan Sheik of the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening.

The Second Stage Theatre announced on Monday that the show will open on February 2015. No casting news yet.

Sheik put the show on Kickstarter where it got a $150,000 to help with its world premiere. The show, based on Easton Ellis's 1991 Manhattan-based novel, also features songs from the era: Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World", New Order's "True Faith", Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight", Huey Lewis and the News' "Hip to be Square" and Human League's "Don't You Want Me".

Matt Smith from Doctor Who, played the lead role of Patrick Bateman in the London production.

Christian Bale played the lead on the movie adaptation of the book in 2000.
