American Idol XIII to show real-time voting results on Facebook, adds Google voting

For the first time ever American Idol will reveal voting results to the public in real time!

Facebook will reveal LIVE "demographic voting trends and relative contestant rankings" for the east coast broadcast, according to a statement from FOX.

Also, fans will get the chance to get their Facebook profile appear on the telecast. FOX said: "as voters and supporters of the American Idol XIII hopefuls chime in and back their favorite performer, they will have an opportunity to become part of the show — and see their actual Facebook profile picture featured in the telecast."

As Reality Blurred noted, this is a similar feature to ABC's upcoming Rising Star which will feature real-time voting on the live show itself. (On Rising Star, viewers vote via an app in real time while a contestant is performing and their profiles appear on TV).

Finally for Google: when fans search for an American Idol-related term via Google Search, Google will display a voting platform in the results.

I'm so excited! American Idol XIII is going to be the best season ever!
