American Idol Top 12 Girls - Recap

Thank the powers that be for listening to my prayer!

Tonight was a better night of singing, anchored by my "girls" Lakisha Jones and Melinda Doolittle. I personally also liked Jordin Sparks -- great to hear Tracy Chapman's music on American Idol.

Getting back to my comments from yesterday about Phil Stacey, when Stephanie Edwards performed first among the girls -- the comment was that she was better than the rest of the guys the night before (therefore better than Phil) and yet no uncontrolled raving from Randy and Paula. So how come Stephanie didn't get the same treatment if she was 10 times better than all the guys?

The other stand out performance was Sabrina Sloan, who I think is going to do the sexy diva thing this year. Oh, yeah and I liked Haley Scarnato.

I personally think Gina Glocksen is almost forcing her way into the finals. She's so determined. I think her fans will like that, but determination can only bring you so far without the vocal chops. Everybody wants to win, not just Gina.

And of course the rest are all blah and forgettable as I cut and paste their names into this recap: Leslie Hunt, Alaina Alexander, Nicole Tranquillo, Amy Krebs and Antonella Barba

(Sorry about the unresponsive website -- rickey.org is getting hammered. The searches for LaKisha are through the roof! Activated a cache plug-in which helped a little bit. I will have to makes friends with some geeks in the WordPress forums over the weekend...)
