American Idol Top 10 Girls - Recap

Melinda Doolittle raises the bar with her version of My Funny Valentine -- the best performance so far in the competition. LaKisha Jones continues to shine with Midnight Train to Georgia. My girls are doing great!

Jordin Sparks didn't do well and she cried. Haley Scarnato didn't do well and she cried too.

Gina Glocksen attempted to differentiate herself from this batch of girls by singing Alone, but inadvertently compared herself to Carrie Underwood. Stephanie Edwards channeled Beyonce, which of course Randy never likes. And Sabrina Sloan sang the nth Whitney song for the night.

Antonella Barba is still singing after all the controversy, but she should be back for at least one more week. She sang well enough I thought to justify another week (that's not the real reason she'll be back but at least it's a bit related to idol). Alaina Alexander and Leslie Hunt I think will go tomorrow. Anyone else, except for Haley, will be a shocker.

NOTE: I don't really have exclusive rights to these recordings but it has come to my attention that some webmasters have been grabbing the MP3s and passing them on as their own, minutes after I post these on their own blogs. This is a bit of a piss off, because all I really want is a link back to where they got it -- you know, a thank you. And so, I've decided to do this for now, and then post direct downloads after the results show. I hope that's a reasonable compromise for now until I think of something else. Thanks.
