In addition, The Idol Pad has revealed that this week will feature guest mentoring from Harry Connick, Jr., who previously mentored the top 5 in season 9. Anyone get the sense this is a dry run for a potential spot on the judges' panel? I remember him being pretty great in season 9.
As for the songs, I love most of these choices, particularly since some of these were the songs I'd hoped they would do in the Idol Week In Review last week: Angie is doing "Someone to Watch Over Me", for instance. Yet as Angie giveth, so does Angie taketh away, as her Now song was my suggestion for Amber. However, I suspect she'll probably do more with it, and really, it would have been too obvious for Amber to do a Rihanna song (though obvious choices never stopped anyone before). But best of all is Candice singing "If I Was Your Man," which I never thought she'd actually do. I'm beyond stoked to hear that performance on Wednesday night, along with Kree's take on "Stormy Weather". This has the potential to be a pretty damn great night.
What do you think of these choices? Sound off in the comments!
