American Idol Season 7 - Spoilers and Hollywood Week Updates
Our fellow American Idol fans at Idol Forums and Vote for the Worst, and MJ from MJ's Big Blog have all been busy these past few weeks researching who could be in this year's Top 24 of American Idol.
Hollywood Week has finished taping and the Top 40/50 have been chosen. It is just a matter of time before some definitive spoilers come up -- because these Idol wannabes won't be able to resist no matter what Fox tells them. Some guys in the Top 40/50:
First of all, Ricco Barrino, brother of Fantasia Barrino was cut in Hollywood. Darn.
Top 40/50
Cardin McKinney -- Cardin McKinney has a great look and she can sing -- is she one of the pros this year?
David Archuleta -- Winner of Star Search when he was 12. I totally agree with the Worsters who have commented on David Archuleta -- if he gets into the Top 24, he will be pimped to death. Given that he is 16 and what seems like great vocal chops if you've seen the YouTube clip (with Kelly Clarkson), this will be American Idol's second try in capturing the High School Musical market.
Jason Castro -- Great, a guy with dreads. Jason Castro's message on his MySpace that he is "temporarily shut down" is a giveaway that he's made it far in the competition.
Add: Jason Castro was on the MTV reality show Cheyenne, and was in her video "Hanging On" (thanks Helen!)
Jermaine Paul -- What is a Grammy-nominated artist doing in American Idol -- home of the so-called undiscovered talent? Oh well, I guess Jermaine Paul still needs the extra push.
Lorena Pinot -- Lorena Pinot once sang on an aircraft carrier.
Syesha Mercado -- from The One! Syesha Mercado was probably the only one with any singing talent on that show. LOL (Oh Michael Cole, where art thou?)
Natasha [BLANK] -- but everyone says she made it... LOL
Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul are all saying that this will be the best Top 24 ever. I'll wait and see -- they've been saying that every year.
I just can't wait for Irish Girl -- now that's hype 2 years in the making.
