American Idol Results Show Slimmed Down
From TV Rules:
Fox has announced that it will be slimming down it's hour-long Wednesday night American Idol results show from one hour to it's standard half hour format. The Idol results show will continue to air in the new 9:00 pm timelsot for this season. The Simple Life 3: Interns moves into the 9:30 timelsot, while repeats of That '70's Show take over the 8:30 time slot...
... No word on whether or not the backlash of unhappy viewers this past week had anything to do with the network's decision to switch the format around.
After what some viewers called "uncalled for cruelty to the performers being eliminated," petitions and an email campaigns began against the show and network. It seems some folks were unappy with the way the four contestants got the boot last week, especially in the case of Judd, whom viewers and himself thought were safe until the last minute when he was called out and booted off the show. While it caused many unhappy viewers it did make for a very good dramatic moment on television.
Time will tell if FOX will tone down so-called "cruelty" on the results show.
