'American Idol' Results Show Pushed Back One Hour, 'Rake' to Fridays

It's a big time shake-up for FOX's Thursday night schedule, as the 12th season of Hell's Kitchen and the debut of Surviving Jack are causing major changes.
American Idol, which has remained comfortably parked at 8:00 PM for its Thursday night results show for over two years now, will be changing time slots. The Idol results show will be moving back one hour, airing at 9:00 PM starting Thursday, March 13. This is due to the premiere of Hell's Kitchen, which will air in the 8:00 PM time slot for the rest of the season. When the Idol results show cuts back to a half-hour starting March 27, the 9:30 PM time slot will be occupied by new comedy series Surviving Jack, starring Christopher Meloni.
Of course, this means a change in date and time for Rake, the new series starring Greg Kinnear, which has occupied the 9:00 PM time slot since its debut.
Rake will be moving to Friday nights at 8:00 PM starting March 14, where it will serve as a lead-in to Enlisted and Raising Hope.
I'm not sure how good this shuffling will be for the ratings, but I imagine things can't really get any worse for Idol than it's gotten already. Who knows? Maybe getting away from The Big Bang Theory will give the show a slight bump.
