American Idol Results Prediction 04/25/2007
Jordin Sparks just turned the corner and after Simon's comments last week that she could win American Idol, and the pimp spot last night, I feel that they are clearing the way for her win. It looks like the judges are conditioning us that Jordin can do no wrong. Since I don't see any of the guys left being capable of having an Elliott or Bo-like surge, and with Melinda flat-lining, the stage may be set for the youngest American Idol winner this year.
My prediction for the bottom 3:
Chris Richardson -- At the bottom of dialidol this week, singing #1 will not help him, even in the face of unprecedented pimping from all 3 judges. They could still position him to be in the finals against Jordin, but it will take some work since Phil's Internet-silent fans are surging.
Melinda Doolittle -- Melinda in the bottom 3 just to shock everybody. Simon will say: "Nobody is safe." (No not really, that would be Jordin). Melinda dropped out of her frontrunner position 2 weeks ago because of lack of buzz. She is not having the "Great Lady Tour" that Fantasia had, I'm sorry. That's why Simon was forced to stir the pot last week. Melinda is proof that the "I am not worthy" strategy cannot be sustained over a period of three months (unless you bring it to town every night which in that case you should have a record deal already and not be on Idol). The "I am here to win" strategy is better -- fans are attracted more to that. Melinda still has a couple of weeks to regroup, but Jordin is now emerging as the chosen one and it may be too late.
LaKisha Jones -- For a THIRD WEEK in a row I am now begging that LaKisha be the shock elimination. However, after landing in the bottom 2 last week, her elimination will not be a shocker anymore -- arggh, it's ruined. Instead of being composed in the face of adversity, LaKisha is now in panic mode which has not helped her singing. She's been virtually eliminated so it doesn't matter if she goes this week or next. I think they could eliminate Melinda tonight to save the season with a Daughtry-like shocker and negate the Sanjaya-effect, but I doubt Idol could be that bold. So LaKisha it is tonight for me, a third week in a row -- and knowing how my picks are always wrong, more than likely just saved her again.
