American Idol - Finale - Season 11 - iTunes Recordings Review
Here are my reviews for the American Idol Season 11 Finale iTunes Recordings.
The winner's singles for both Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez were very good. I don't understand why the judges didn't like Jessica's. She's supposed to sing new music right? Did they plan for her to record a Whitney Houston greatest hits album after the show? Boggles the mind.

The reviews:

Phillip Phillips - Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)
This is the same track as his Top 10 performance. Great song choice from Phillip then. He saved himself one session in the studio.
Rating: n/a
Jessica Sanchez - The Prayer
This version was nothing special. Her falsetto needs a lot of improvement. As usual, I thought her emotion was quite hollow.
Rating: 3/5
Phillip Phillips - Stand By Me
This was the producer's choice? Again, probably something that looked good on paper -- but Phillip changed the melody again here and there, and it's not pretty. Also, a very sleepy song for a finale.
Rating: 0/5
Jessica Sanchez - I Have Nothing
I had high hopes for this song, but it sounded like she may have dialed this in. She sounded very tired, which saddened me. One day, Jessica will be able to tackle these "child-bearing" songs with authority, but not today.
Rating: 3/5
Phillip Phillips - Home
I love this song. I hope it becomes a hit. It sounds like a remix of Mumford and Sons and Arcade Fire! Go Phillip!
Rating: 5/5
Jessica Sanchez - Change Nothing
What I don't understand about the judging last night was: how is Jessica supposed to sell anything if she doesn't sing a pop song? This was a good choice for her. It's something Beyonce would sing. I really don't understand the judges sometimes.
