Post-mortem: This show was a little bit unexpected, and with no tinge of sarcasm for Scott Savol, everyone did well tonight. Some off parts if you are really strict about the details, but overall, a very entertaining show. For a while I was mushying up to Scott during his interview, and then it just turned out to more pandering to the "mothers" out there and the Christians. There I said it. Don't get me started with his God Bless You Simon remark. I really don't know how strong my powers are, but I'll try again: Let's go Scott! That was awesome of you standing up like a man to Simon. Simon is evil and you are the force of good! I'm praying for you bro! God is with you!
(Whew, I just wanna blaze somebody...)
Next, Connie: thank God he had some really good performances to back him up. Tonight went a little bit on the ridiculous side again (like that Partridge song), but still passable. For everyone's info, Constantine is now the most popular search on rickey.org -- would you believe?
Carrie: I loved her last note. And I love MacArthur Park! And Simon was correct, she needs a stylist, though it's just a testament to how pretty she is because she comes through, in spite of bad styling.
Scott: Blaze!
Anthony: Let's fall in love with him again! The geeky goodness is finally shining through. I'm excited and scared. He's been such a joy to watch now that he isn't trying too hard, but I don't know if he has enough fans.
Vonzell: Hmmm. Hahaha. Just kidding. I like her, but maybe she might do great in a group, like a Destiny's Child or Gemini's Twin (haha). The problem I have with Vonzell is her repertoire is too much like other "divas" in American Idol past. And I'm particularly biased towards one of those divas, so there is simply no comparison for me. But I still like her.
Anwar: Perhaps he's really not gay. He's just weird. And I love it! I just hope he can hold a total performance together from beginning to end like...
Bo Bice. Again, a performance that sounds like a recording already. He needs to do this every week to catch up with Carrie's and Constantine's popularity.
As for me, I voted my ass off again. I don't think there will be shockers tomorrow but it's going to be close.
