'American Idol' Alum Scott MacIntyre + Wife Christina Expecting First Child

Thanks to a successful kidney transplant, American Idol contestant Scott MacIntyre has a more than just his own life to thank his anonymous donor for.

"It’s crazy," the former Season 8 hopeful told People, "It was not possible for us to have a baby while I was in kidney failure, so my donor not only gave me the gift of life but also allowed us to create a new life."

"Now that I have my transplant and have my health back, I’m so looking forward to this new chapter with [my wife] Christina and our baby."

The couple revealed that regardless of the sex of their child, they already have a name picked out.
