American Idol 9 Top 11 Studio Recordings Available Now
In general, I was underwhelmed by this week's studio recordings. I think it was song choice more than anything else. Far more losers than winners. My reviews:
Paige Miles
Unfortunately, since she was eliminated last night, I didn't bother buying this. I mean really. Why should I? I did everything I can to get Paige on the tour -- putting everything on the line for her this week -- and she couldn't deliver. How hard is it to mess up the black diva spot on Idol? C'mon. She sucked. The worst black diva finish in American Idol history. /bitter-rant

Tim Urban
Tim's voice is good. Don't understand why the judges hate him so much.

Andrew Garcia
My advice to Andrew if he ever reads this: You need to stop the affected singing. It does not work. We can hear you trying to make this work and it's annoying.

Didi Benami
I love Didi's voice. This unfortunately was a very poor song choice for her. She tried a bit too hard on this one.

Another solid song from Lee. He has the best recording voice this season imo.

Go Aaron! I loved this recording. His voice records very well.

Katie sounded good. I'm so happy. She's slowly picking up.

Michael Lynche
Solid but nothing special. A lot of Big Mike's stage presence is lost because you cannot see his larger than life persona in his recordings.

This was just OK. On hindsight a bad song choice.

Crystal Bowersox
This was very good! Very polished. As good as her live performance. The best recording of the week.
Just wondering what type of record she will make if she wins. Her sound doesn't sound "current" like Simon Cowell said they were looking for before the season.

I'm a bit underwhelmed. The big note was not as big as I was hoping for. I hope she's taking notes.
