American Idol 9 Top 11 Mega Analysis
Tonight is a big night on American Idol as we -- the voting viewers -- determine who will make it to the Summer Tour. Yesterday's big news that Miley Cyrus was the mentor for what has become Billboard No.1's week (after FOX had announced that it would be Teen Idol week) -- could be crucial for some Idols on "the bubble".
Let's take a look:
Guys
I think the person most in danger of not making it to the tour is Andrew Garcia. He has experienced a free fall unprecedented in American Idol history over the course of 4 weeks. There's a lot at stake since landing on the Summer Tour means a few thousand dollars which will go far in helping Andrew's family. But will Miley be able to give him good advice? I doubt it. If ever, it may throw Andrew off even further. It would be a disappointing end to Andrew's journey, but I hope he pulls off a miracle tonight.
Conspiracy Theory: The fact that Andrew did not make Bottom 3 last week is a strong indicator that he could be booted off on Wednesday. I don't know why exactly, but that's just my guess. If he sings in the first half of the show, it's lights out.
The other person in danger is Tim Urban. Thankfully, he has Vote for the Worst supporting him, and pretty much the entire fan base of American Idol right now is Vote for the Worst (judging by the comments on blogs and on Twitter) -- so he has a strong shot of making it to the tour. Tim is smart -- I think he'll be able to pull off something tonight. Only a total disaster will get him off the tour I think. Never underestimate the power of abs.
Conspiracy Theory: Turban and BDND can potentially ride the Bottom 2 wave up to the Top 6.
In danger but with a teeny tiny "d" (OMG, that didn't sound right!) is Aaron Kelly. I think he redeemed himself with "Angie" last week which makes him safe into the tour even if he messes up tonight. He thinks Miley has "a lot of experience" -- so let's just hope she gave him good advice because he's probably going to take it to heart.
Conspiracy Theory: Aaron sounded really great in his studio recording, and I think this is a big factor in moving far in the competition. He could make a run and go far I think. The judges and some fans have been saying he is too young - but on the contrary, this is his biggest asset in drawing votes.
All the other guys I believe are safe, no matter what or how they sing.
Girls
Since Lacey Brown got eliminated last week, the chances for a girl voted off is diminished a little, but there is still a possibility.
Of all the girls, Paige Miles is most in danger after landing in the Bottom 2 last week.
Conspiracy Theory: The Black Diva Never Dies. Paige is not going anywhere. The Idol @gods will not let it happen.
Katie Stevens is also in danger, and I actually think she will land in the Bottom 3 this week. The show may have already given up on her.
Conspiracy Theory: If Katie does not end up in the Bottom 3, she will be eliminated at #9 or #8, unless miracles happen. Just a feeling.
The other girls are safe for sure.
What do you guys think?
