American Idol 7 - Results Prediction - 02/21/08

American Idol 7 Top 24 Results Prediction for February 21, 2008
Well, it's that time of the week again! This year we're doing things a bit differently. I've set up an office pool so we can all make our own predictions and see how we stack up with all the rickey.org readers worldwide. *LOL* An overall winner will be declared in the end and he or she will win a prize! Yay! I'm personally hoping it's me so I don't have to give a prize, haha. But really, it's all about bragging rights.
For those who are joining, important stuff: You need to choose who you think will win American Idol 7 before the deadline today. That's 40 points! (If you choose the winner later, the points will diminish per week). For 3 weeks we will pick the 4 eliminated singers, then single elimination after that.
So are we ready? Join the Rickey.org Office Pool!
Now for some prediction mega-analysis:
It would be a major victory for Vote for the Worst if Amy Davis is saved this week. They would have been able to save Amy Davis from the clutches of obscurity from whence she came. But definitely the worst performance of the night. I am saddened that Joanne Borgella gave a lackluster performance also, and singing #2 did not help her. Even if some of the latter singers were also bad, they would have been more memorable only because they sang towards the end.
For the guys, the combos are Colton/Garrett, Colton/Jason Y, Colton/Luke, Garrett/Jason Y, Garret/Luke, Jason Y/Luke. I think that Garrett Haley demonstrated that he is way out of his league by a mile and there will be no Kelly Clarkson miracle for him. And between Luke Menard and Jason Yeager, Luke will get a free pass because of looks.
As for the winner of American Idol, it's early, but office pool rules say we have to choose now! For a while I thought that Kristy Lee Cook would be a contender. But it is now apparent that her appeal is limited to the straight male audience who do not vote in droves. Michael Johns and Jason Castro have found their female niches but that will not be enough. Amanda Overmyer clearly has no chance because of her more mature audience. Ramiele Malubay has a chance, but it's almost a certainty that the judges will destroy her in the end to make way for the chosen one. Carly Smithson is the singer we are made to think will win everything but it will turn out that no one was voting for her after all. And so, I conclude: this year will be the year of the tweens, their mothers, and all the American Idol viewers who want to feel good about themselves that they voted a genuinely good guy through to win it all.
Rickey's Bold Predictions:
The 2 guys eliminated tonight are: Jason Yeager and Garrett Haley
The 2 girls eliminated tonight are: Amy Davis and Joanne Borgella
The winner of American Idol 7 will be: David Archuleta
