American Idol 7 - Philadelphia Auditions

Some thoughts: Well, all I can say is that I'm happy American Idol is back with new shows. It's been one year, that's amazing. At any rate, this show pretty much writes itself and I don't think the editors have a hard time since they have this formula down pat. They showed a ton of bad auditions in Philadelphia as expected for the first show, but bad auditions which tell a story. When I am forced to turn away from the television cringing at what I'm about to see, seeing, just saw -- I know that American Idol is doing it's job well.

Also, an interesting thing happened at the end with the last two singers. In these times of getting your one-minute of fame, who will you remember more? Brooke White who got the pimp spot, or Christina Tolisano the Star Wars chick? I think it was just great that Idol was poking fun at itself when Christina, after getting cut, started ranting that American Idol was afraid to choose people who were talented but different -- all the while showing footage of all the cookie-cutter singers that the judges put through to Hollywood.

You are right Christina, and American Idol knows you are right, so don't cry anymore OK?
