American Idol 7 on iTunes - Wow.

Unlike a few weeks ago where the versions of the songs on iTunes were taken from the live performances, the Top 12 songs on iTunes are studio recordings. I have to say, I am very impressed. True, half of the guys left now are semi-pros and a former $2.2 million pro, but they really sound good in the studio recordings.

And you know what's interesting? Carly Smithson now sounds like her old self from her debut album "Ultimate High". If you didn't know any better, you would think that it wasn't her -- just like those commenters on iTunes. That's Carly Smithson alright -- her voice is higher in the studio.

The best recordings this week are David Cook and Brooke White. They can record an album right now on the spot. It is so obvious that they are following the Daughtry-route of "I don't really need to win, I just need to get fans". Recording contracts are waiting for them in a couple of months. Listen and believe. (I think I'm going to start calling David Cook, Brooke White, Michael Johns and Carly Smithson the "RockStar" quartet).
