American Idol 7 - "Morning After" iTunes Charts - 04/03/08 - Michael Johns leads David Archuleta

We have charts! I've taken 4 screencaps this morning: 3 dailies and another controversial "cumulative" chart. Again, these are only useful as far as positions are concerned in popularity because obviously iTunes doesn't give us any actual numbers. We are lucky we have a nice loophole to have lively discussions about so no more whining, LOL.

Anyway, with the help of Virginia5, I've concluded that the iMixes are a DAILY chart -- possibly weekly, but since the American Idol tracks from last week have declined significantly on the American Idol vs. iTunes Top 20 iMix, a daily chart seems more logical.

As for the emotional search results on iTunes, I am still convinced that this is a cumulative sales chart of some sort, either weekly, monthly or by the year. I still believe it is a yearly popularity graph since songs like "Tattoo", "No Air", "Home" and "It's Not Over" pop up on these results -- well in line of what their sales might be like in 2008, although looking at it now again, a weekly chart might actually be more appropriate for this chart, hmmm... But it's definitely not daily.

Again, this is an inexact science. This is what iTunes is showing us, and this is what I think they mean. That's the story and we're sticking to it! I will have another update over the weekend. On to the charts!
