American Idol 2014 Top 9 Song Spoilers

Here are the American Idol XIII 2014 Top 9 Song Choice Spoilers this week.

The theme this week is "(I'm with the) Band" where each contestant will serve as the "lead singer" of the "band" led by Rickey Minor. Note that American Idol superstar Allison Iraheta will serve as the backup singer, so this is going to be a good one.

My pre-performance critique:

Since I like to pre-judge, I'm a bit disappointed by Sam Woolf's song choice this week (again). I'm sure he will do brilliantly but it didn't seem insightful to me. Obviously a song he thought was cool a few years ago growing up.

Majesty Rose again has let her ambition get the best of her. I hope she pulls it off, but on paper it already looks like a "Let It Go" trainwreck from two weeks ago. She is not the type of singer she thinks she is. I hope people in production had more insight to give her.

Jena Irene has a predictable choice and again I'm sure she will do well.

Jessica and Caleb have very safe song choices which will serve them well.

Boring song choice from Malaya Watson unfortunately.

And though I don't get it, Alex Preston singing "Don't Speak" has the potential to be the performance of the night, like every night that he is on the show. Could be another iTunes chart landing track.
