Ryan Seacrest says "If you are looking for the best young singers... you have come to the right place."
Theme: "Home"
| Contestant | Song | Voting Number |
|---|---|---|
| Jena Irene | Suddenly I See | 1-855-4-IDOL-08 |
| Review Jena opens the show. Another solid vocal for Jena! She looks so comfortable on stage. She looks like a young pop star. | ||
| Alex Preston | I Don’t Want to Be | 1-855-4-IDOL-09 |
| Review Alex is one of the artists this season and he delivered again with his vocal. He needs to improve his performance though. But I think his fans will love this as it is. Look at those rolled up pants! | ||
| Jessica Meuse | White Flag | 1-855-4-IDOL-10 |
| Review Jessica looks so nice with the curly hair! She's really good. I love her folk singing sound. Good job! The judges however ripped her to shreds. | ||
| Dexter Roberts | Lucky Man | 1-855-4-IDOL-01 |
| Review Dexter slows it down with his song. Very good vocal. I personally I'm not turned on by this -- but Dexter is a perfect contestant for the Idol fanbase. Best of the night so far. | ||
| Emily Piriz | Let's Get Loud | 1-855-4-IDOL-11 |
| Review This is an odd song choice to talk about your home -- but apparently Emily really loved this when she was younger. It's a song that unfortunately doesn't showcase her vocals. But JLO LOVED IT. | ||
| Caleb Johnson | Working Man | 1-855-4-IDOL-13 |
| Review Idol's resident rocker delivers again with a solid rock song. The fans just love this type of performance on the show. He straightened his hair! He 'fainted' in the end -- woohoo. | ||
| MK Nobilette | Drops Of Jupiter | 1-855-4-IDOL-06 |
| Review MK played the guitar. She's a WGWG tonight with this Train song. Again, nice vocal like last week -- but I feel she needs to work on her stage presence. Also: MK has two moms and two step moms. I love that! | ||
| CJ Harris | 1-855-4-IDOL-05 | |
| Review This was one of CJ's better performances, but the guitar picking distracted me. It also looked like a tight performance. | ||
| Sam Woolf | Just One | 1-855-4-IDOL-12 |
| Review Perfect from the first note. Great song choice. A great look and a solid vocal from Sam. I want him to win! He's amazing! | ||
| Malaya Watson | Take Me To The King | 1-855-4-IDOL-02 |
| Review I like that they straightened her hair. It's a better look than the wild hair she's had. She played the piano. I like Malaya but I really needed more from this performance. It was painful in the end with the shouting. | ||
| Ben Briley | Turning Home | 1-855-4-IDOL-04 |
| Review There are 120 people in Ben's family. This a great vocal. Ben sounds like a pro. It really makes him stand out on the show. Good job! But the judges wanted emotion. | ||
| Majesty Rose | Fix You | 1-855-4-IDOL-07 |
| Review This is a hard song to sing only because it's been overdone many times now. So you are not only battling on the night, you are battling with every version of this song on every reality singing show's history. I thought it was just OK. Not her best vocal unfortunately. | ||
