American Idol 12 to end one week early after non-save in the Top 5?

American Idol 12 is scheduled to end on May 16, 2013. However, after the judges didn't use the "save" in the Top 5, the show is now left with a Top 4 and one extra week.

So if you do the simple math, either the show will end one week early or there will be a week where we have no eliminations.

So take your pick:

No elimination in the Top 4 (next week)
No elimination in the Top 3 (two weeks from now)
No WINNER in the Top 2 (three weeks from now)

My guess is that the show will just end one week early. If they decide to go with the original schedule then we won't have eliminations next week. If they do it with only 3 contestants left, then it's inevitable that they will have a non-elimination week or just end early. No amount of press releases and fakery to create suspense will be able to surmount simple logic (but they can try).

Disaster.
