American Idol 11 - Top 3 Power List
With only two weeks remaining, American Idol's Top 3 hit the stage tonight. Jessica Sanchez, Phillip Phillips and Joshua Ledet will each take on three songs: Jimmy's choice, judges' choice and their choice. You can check out the song spoilers here. I still stand by my early prediction that PP will win the whole competition; what it comes down to is who is in the finale with him.
After Jessica's breakout moment last week with "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going," she could totally sneak into next week. However, Joshua's fan base has been multiplying rapidly after what many fans consider some of the best performances of the show (cue eye roll). Before we get to tonight, I've broken down the Top 3 with a little advice:
1. Phillip Phillips - Do I need to even give him advice? OK, so I'll be honest, his "Volcano" cover last week was really good; he was much more tolerable than usual. That just might have catapulted him to win this whole freaking thing. If he wants to win, he needs to have a similar moment tonight. Based on the song spoilers, he could very well have that.
2. Joshua Ledet - The black diva never dies. If I had to choose, I would much prefer Joshua to win, but he's still not my cup of tea. I have never (nor wil I ever) jumped on the bandwagon with this guy. He mostly over sings and chews his words. His "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World" cover did not have me rooting for him. However, if he can go tender and restrain his vocal acrobatics tonight (as he's done in the past) he might save himself from a Top 3 finish.
3. Jessica Sanchez - Tonight is her night to lose. She was the showstopper last week, but that doesn't mean she can slack off tonight. She needs to come fast and furious with her performances. Vocally, she's always been the best this season, but at times, there is a disconnect between her and the material. Considering she was voted out during Top 7 week, there is a disconnect with America as well. Good thing is that she hasn't been in danger since. Another breakout moment tonight could earn her the crown. I NEED A GIRL TO WIN!!!
