American Idol 11 Hollywood Week starts Feb. 8
Nigel Lythgoe announced on Twitter that Hollywood Week of American Idol 11 starts next week. This coincides with changes made on the FOX schedule where the audition show for Feb. 8 was replaced with "Hollywood Round, Part 1".
Again, The Voice (which premieres this weekend and next week) is affecting FOX scheduling. First, they included a special show after the NFC Championship game in response to The Voice airing after the Super Bowl. And now sensing The Voice will actually have a faster pace in terms of moving contestants through auditions, they have decided to scrap a show and deprive us of some performances. I'm a bit disappointed that Idol is on the defensive when they are the more popular show!
Nevertheless, voting rounds still begin on March 7 -- a MONTH from now -- so this scheduling change doesn't really matter for those of you who want things to go faster.
From Nigel Lythgoe:
Hollywood starts next week for #AmericanIdol. There are plenty of great auditions to come.
