Top 9 iTunes

James Durbin had the best track this week, followed closely by Scotty McCreery. Pia, Paul and Haley also turned in great tracks. Finally, they used the auto-tune on Jacob Lusk and he now sounds decent (and listenable) in the studio. Sadly, Stefano is still suffering in the studio even with the help of hitmaker Ryan Tedder.

Casey Abrams - Have You Ever Seen The Rain

This is an OK recording. But a little "flat" for Casey. It didn't really go anywhere for me. Probably why he brought out the upright bass in the live show to spice it up.

Lauren Alaina - (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman

Another solid recording from Lauren. Just a little dry for me. She kinda sounded drowned out by everything. She also sounds more like her "real" voice here instead of the higher pitch we've been hearing for the past few weeks.

James Durbin - While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Wow, this was amazing. This is James' best recording so far. The producers finally added "depth" to his voice. Woohoo! He sounds more like Adam Lambert now. Amazing. One of the best recordings of the season -- up there with Naima's Umbrella.

Stefano Langone - When A Man Loves A Woman

Stefano can sing to me in falsetto any day (or night). Ryan Tedder's arrangements were interesting, but Stefano's vocals still stand out in an "odd" way. Stefano needs to learn how to breathe when he sings and to tone things down at places and not belt 110% all the time. He needs to find a better middle ground for himself.

Jacob Lusk - Man in the Mirror

OMG. Can it be? This is actually a decent recording from Jacob! Finally, the producers have done something good for him. His best and most listenable recording of the season. Good job. I friggin love auto-tune. It really creates magic in the studio.

Scotty McCreery - That's All Right

Love this! Scotty is amazing here. I can feel his confidence in the studio just like his live performance. Great to see him mature like this on the show. Awesome job.

Paul McDonald - Folsom Bridge Blues

Paul's lisp is back! Oh well. This was a fun track. I think he did a great job. Paul continues to be excellent in the studio. Glad he got the pimp spot this week.
