American Idol 10 San Francisco Auditions - Recap
It's the last audition show for American Idol Season 10! Woohoo! Looks like a lot of people are relieved that we're finally getting to the next stage: Hollywood (although the Las Vegas part, I dread).
At any rate, San Francisco brought some notable talent - mainly accident survivor Stefano Langone (one of my favorites) and "life" survivor (LOL) James Durbin, who pretty much had every sob story as his life story. Hey, if you want to win, you'll do everything and anything.
Recaps from the Internet:
‘American Idol’: … and Don’t Forget J.Lo! (NY Times) - Jon Caramanica: "...when she commits to a critique, it’s direct and refreshing, a combination of industry savvy and emotional comfort."
San Francisco Auditions - Boo Hoo, I Waste Too Much Money On Post-It Notes (Vote for the Worst) - Dave Della Terza: "Ending the episode is James Durbin, who goes through every sob story in the book. His dad died of a drug overdose, he has Asperger’s, he has Tourette’s, he has a son, he has no job, and life is just so hard. He did forget a few sob stories that I noticed with him- he has an ugly fauxhawk that everyone mocks..."
‘American Idol’ highlights: James Durbin, Julie Zorrilla, and Stefano Lancone (Joe's Place Blog) - Mila: "James Durbin: What a voice. The guy has an incredible story of battling disorders, raising a family, and also having a great talent that may be among the best has seen this season. If there is a lock right now to go far, this guy is it."
Idol's Last Audition City: San Francisco Tricks & Treats (Reality Rocks) - Lyndsey Parker: "I was seriously hoping for a rebound in L.A.'s sister city by the bay. After all, according to show insiders, many of L.A.'s finest actually auditioned in San Francisco, before Los Angeles was added as a last-minute audition city."
American Idol in San Francisco: Your Favorite? (TV Line) - Michael Slezak: "...while there were definitely some talented folks in the mix, it also felt like the show’s producers were going to borderline comical lengths to imbue the proceedings with some gravitas..."
