American Idol 10 removes Top 24 round - American Idol Apocalypse

American Idol just morphed into a version of the X Factor.
The Top 24 has been removed and the contestants will work with dancers for the next season. There is also an in-house mentor in Jimmy Iovine, chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M Records.
I'm actually a bit excited for the dancing part because it means former contestants of SYTYCD will be employed (I think).
From TV Guide:
A new judges panel isn't the only change coming to American Idol this season.Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe tells TVGuide.com that the finalists will face new challenges, including contests to make the best music video, to promote themselves, and to work with a band and dancers for an awards show-style performance.
The producers have also eliminated the round that shrinks the contestants from a group of 24 to 12, instead opting to just go straight to the top 12.
