The Amazing Race 24 Recap of Leg 6: 'Down and Dirty'

It's Leg 6 of The Amazing Race 24 All-Stars!

Seven teams remain as they find themselves in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

From the Colombo Rowing Club, the teams head to the Dutch Museum to get their first route info.

The teams take tuk tuks (the local auto rickshaw) early in the morning but since the museum opened at 8 am, everyone essentially started at the same time.

Route Info: Head to Alawwa via train and go to the Cypteco Fuel Station

The train ride was nice. The Sri Lankan country side was beautiful.

At the Cypteco Fuel Station:

Road Block: "Fill Her Up"

Look for four tuk tuks tagged with the assigned color of your team, then fill them up with 3 liters of gas.

This was total chaos.

Rachel did not understand the directions! She was putting gas in the wrong tuk tuks. She thought the color was the body of the rickshaw not the tag. #ReadYourClue

Rachel and Brendon finished the challenge last, but still made the train with everyone else.

Route Info: Head to Rambukkana via train and go to The Millennium Elephant Foundation sanctuary via tuk tuks, then search the river for the next clue.

Again, taxi drivers rule The Amazing Race -- the faster your tuk tuk, the faster you will get to your destination. In the end, everyone arrived at more or less the same time.

At the river:

Detour:

"Trunk"

Carry six logs to a truck with an elephant's help

or

"Sheets"

Make paper made of elephant dung

The "Trunk" challenge only had four chains so the first four teams took them all. Some teams had to go to "Sheets" as a second choice.

Neither of these challenges were easy however.

Detour Results:

The "Trunks" people were faster: Jet and Cord finished first, followed by Leo and Jamal, Jessica and John, and Dave and Connor.

The "Sheets" teams followed led by the Globetrotters, Brendon and Rachel, and Caroline and Jennifer.

Route Info: Take taxis to Ambepussa Rest House to meet the "wiseman"

Listen to the wiseman play his flute before he gives the next clue.

Route Info: Take a taxi to Mount Lavinia Hotel Beach, the pitstop

It was the cowboys vs. the "Indians" in a race for the finish.

Again, winning or losing depends on your taxi driver's speeding abilities.

Jet and Cord and Leo and Jamal arrived at their destination at the same time and it was a sprint for the finish line! That's how it's done.

Pitstop:

Leo and Jamal won a five night trip for two to Berlin, Germany.

3rd: Jessica and John
4th: Dave and Connor

5th: Brendan and Rachel

The Globetrotter's taxi driver brought them to the wrong place! Editing made it appear that may finish last but...

6th: Flight Time and Big Easy

Last: Caroline and Jennifer

However, it was a non-elimination leg so everyone's still racing.
