Amanda Bynes was facing jail time for allegedly throwing a bong out the window of her New York City apartment, but a plea deal will keep her out of jail.

Prosecutors announced today (Jan. 10) that if Amanda stays clean for the next six-months they will drop the case.

"This is an important step in her rehabilitation," admitted Bynes' lawyer Gerald Shargel when all was said and done. "We’re very optimistic about the future."

Bynes was not in court as she is staying with her parents in Los Angeles and undergoing counseling twice a week which is a condition of said plea.

The original arrest occurred back in March 2013 when police were called because Bynes was allegedly smoking a joint in the lobby of her building. To make matters worse, when the authorities arrived she threw her bong out the window of her 36th floor apartment.

You may also remember it as the day she wore that insane wig.

We know you at least remember that.
