Amali Ward sings 'Rather Be' on The X Factor Australia 2014 (VIDEO)

Amali Ward sang 'Rather Be' on The X Factor Australia 2014 auditions.

Amali is 25-years-old and a former tenth place finisher on Australian Idol back in the show's second season, making her to appear on this season so far. That said, Amali has one of the better voices of the competition so far. I mean, I don't think she's necessarily a knockout vocalist of the powerhouse variety, but she has serious potential. Not that I live in Australia or anything, but I could seriously hear her voice on the radio right now. It just has this subtle, elegant tone to it that is hard to duplicate.

That said, I feel like she's the sort of contestant whose fate depends on the mentor she gets. I could see her going far with Dannii Minogue or Ronan Keating. But I'm not sure Natalie Bassingthwaighte or Redfoo would get her very far. And I'd argue she's someone with potential to go far.
