All-Ashton Repertory - American Ballet Theater

I watched the All-Ashton Repertory performance of the American Ballet Theatre at the Metropolitan Opera House two weeks ago.
Nigel Lythgoe tweeted that he was watching - which got me interested. I thought that maybe I'll see him in the lobby or something. (The idea was: watch the ballet and maybe get to see Nigel too).
Too bad I couldn't find anyone to go with me. There were still great seats available on the morning of the show, and I was able to snag a middle front row seat on the Grand Tier. I'm very happy I decided to go though, even if I was alone. Watching something at the Met somehow feels like a spiritual experience for me. I think that because my mother was an opera singer, the Met represents the pinnacle of her profession, and being there made me feel some sort of connection to her history. (She performed next door at the New York State Theatre now named David Koch Theatre in the 60s long before I was born).
This was my first time to watch the American Ballet Theater, so I was very excited. I really loved the Thais Pas de Deux -- and the dancer who played Puck in The Dream -- Daniil Simkin -- stole the show. Just really great choreography for that role and he delivered.
I also learned how to applaud courtesy of the nice lady beside me:
You shout "Brava" if you really liked the female dancer, "Bravo" if you really liked the male dancer and "Bravi" if you liked the couple equally.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find Nigel after the show -- since I didn't know where to look. And even if I wanted outside, I didn't see him come out.
Nigel tweeted me later though when I tweeted that I couldn't find him:
From @dizzyfeet:
@rickey I was there.
Gasp! Could it be that Nigel knows me? *excited*
Maybe someday I'll finally see him.
So I watched a ballet, learned a little Italian and got a tweet from Nigel. Not a bad night!
