Alexander Rybak - International Spotlight

24 year old Alexander Rybak was born in Minsk, Belarus. When he was 4 years old, he and his family moved to Norway. At 5, he started to play piano, and his parents being musical entities themselves, he has been a student at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo since the age of 10. In 2005, he entered the Norwegian version of Idol, only making it to the semi-finals, but in 2006 Alexander won another talent competition, Kjempesjansen (The Great Opportunity) with a song he wrote and composed himself. Last year, with a record 387 points, more points awarded than ever before, he won Eurovision with "Fairytale", another song he wrote and composed himself.

Alexander Rybak is a boss with the Viola and has a killer voice to boot. I actually saw him first while I visited the UK and they had their competition to find the singer of their Eurovision act this year. The UK act in no way compared to his amazing performance. He has something that I like to call "goofy-suave", haha. You can tell he has a lot of self-confidence, but he doesn't reek of it, and it makes him very appealing. Enough chit-chat though, here are some performances:
