Raise your hand if you were shocked at the elimination of Jasmine and Jorge. Good. Now, raise your hand if you were unaware of Idol’s surprise twist that will change the show forever …FOREVER!!!!!!

Those with raised hands, you weren’t paying attention.

Jorge’s departure is surprising insomuch that he didn’t give the worst performance on Tuesday. I could argue - correctly, BTW - that as pallid as his take on the Jackson 5’s “Never Can Say Goodbye” was, it was far more pleasant on the ears than Gokey’s spas attack, Lambert’s assault on the senses or MacIntyre’s Ambien commercial (and don’t get me started on Anoop). But I wouldn’t bet a bottle of Jackson’s Jesus Juice that any of the aforementioned Jackson catastrophes was going to derail SPaRK’s anointed XY chromosome triumvirate.
