AI Report Card Top 8: I (Used To) Love The 80s!

The most refreshing thing about tonight’s Top 8 Idol performance show wasn’t the “Birth Year” theme or any one particular performance in general. Nope, the thrilling occasion is cause for celebration because finally - FINALLY - we are down to one hour programming. That means it’s only a mere 8 weeks before it’s all over.

I don’t mean to sound so grumpy. Season 8 hasn’t been a total washout. While we’ve yet to have a seasonal epiphany (you know, this year’s “Summertime” moment - although Kris and Adam came close to it on Country and Motown nights respectively - and Adam came damn near close to it again tonight), the Idol stage has mostly been scattered with bad High School Sing performances from some kids who’ve had no right being here in the first place.
