AI 10 Top 4 Results: Maybe We're All Amazed

AI10 Top 4

Tonight the results makes the difference between Top 4 and Top 3. After tonight, all four contestants will be heading home, only 3 will have celebrations and return, while one will have a shoulder to cry on, and lots to think about. Will it be Scotty, the presumed front-runner no one believes is going anywhere until the finals. Or will it be James, who, like Scotty, has not been known to be in the bottom three, but whose tenuous ability to sing on key has been noticed by all but the judges. How about Lauren, who was in the bottom two last week, a youngster with lots of promise yet always delivers shy of that promise? Or Haley, who the judges seem to delight in critiquing, to the point of distraction to the audience.

Crusty starts the show with the sad tale of the contestants putting their lives on hold, and one will have that bubble burst tonight. Crusty announcers there were 72 million votes last night, a new record for the Top four. There will be plenty of lve performances, but first we are reminded about the show last night. Once we see that, James and Scotty are out to sing Start Up Band, Brad Paisley's song with Keith Urban. Wow, Scotty is finally outsinging someone in a duet.

Crusty announces some more tour dates, and I can't imagine going. Next out is the girls, singing Miranda Lambert's Gun Powder And Lead. Both girls hold their own, it was rather nice. I just missed when the show became Country Idol.

There is a incredibly long segment about a Windows Video program. It is time for results, and Crusty is ready. The first person in the Top 3 is Lauren. She is ecstatic, as are the judges, cause it looks more and more like Haley is heading home. After the break, there will be some live performances. First we watch the DVD of Lady GaGa singing You & I live. Soon Crusty introduces Enrique Iglesias who will be singing his latest single, Dirty Dancer featuring Usher. Wow, he is singing live, kind of. I mean, the amount of electronic processing is just stunning.

We return to Crusty reminding us the season is only 2 more weeks remaining. The last time they were together was for the Ford Music Video, singing Owl City's Fireflies.

To drag this out even longer, they introduce Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks to perform her latest single, I Am Woman. Wow, talk about girl anthems! Go Jordin! She tore up the stage!

We get back, and we have the World Premier of the new video by Steven Tyler, (It) Feels So Good.

The next person through is a shock to be sure, it is Haley. She is stunned, and Crusty shows her the printing on the card to prove it. The judges are quite surprised, and feign happiness. Once a commercial break is over, we find out that Scotty is going to the final 3, and that James is going home.

James Durbin

We have tears all around, including Jennifer Lopez. Before he sings, he talks about giving metal a chance, and is in tears when he sings Paul McCartney's Maybe I'm Amazed. And that really didn't go well. At all. Best of luck, James.
