Adventure Time - Season 5 Episode 25 - Recap - Candy Streets

This week's episode of Cartoon Network's Adventure Time is a crime drama, and like most genre parody episodes of the show, it's flawlessly executed and a total blast. It's also really well-storyboarded and very funny.

The episode opens with Finn and Jake, our resident heroes in the magical future Land of Ooo, playing dress-up with some adorable kittens. Suddenly, Lumpy Space Princess bursts into the room screaming and flipping out about having something stolen from her. Princess Bubblegum sedates her, but LSP is too loopy afterwards to enunciate the robber's name properly. Finn and Jake find a hotel key on her unconscious body, and they take it to the hotel to investigate.

There's a really funny montage of Finn, Jake, and B-MO badly doing cop things. They eventually come across what looks like a bloodstain, then deduce they should check the pharmacy across the street to see if anyone came in for bandages. The clerk at the pharmacy gives them the person's name and exact location, then apologizes for not being more helpful (I enjoyed this gag).

At the train station, they are stopped trying to catch the suspect, Pete Sassafras, but eventually get on the train and make the arrest. Satisfied that the crime is solved, Finn and Jake grab a box of donuts and contemplate a career in law enforcement. Then, B-MO shows up, having analyzed the blood stain. It turns out to be pizza sauce, and when they eventually track down their new suspect, a pizza delivery boy, they discover that LSP was upset because the pizza boy stole her heart, but spurned her advances.

This episode was nicely done. It was very funny, well-animated, and a great one-off episode. Come back here for a recap of next week's episode!
