Director of High School Musical and Hairspray Adam Shankman has checked himself into a treatment center.

"Adam Shankman is currently seeking treatment in a rehabilitation center," a rep revealed in a statement to Us Weekly. "His friends and family support him and wish him well on his journey to recovery."

Also a director of several Glee episodes, Shankman most recently made an appearance at the Trevor Live L.A. event in Hollywood.

His friend and cast member (in both HSM and Hairspray), Zac Efron also recently completed a hush hush stint in a rehabilitation center.

That musical crowd, they go hard.
