Adam Lambert with Kris Allen on Larry King Live

Here's a clip from Larry King Live. Adam Lambert says that when Danny left the competition his fans were more apt to vote for Kris Allen. I find it interesting that this is the line of thinking the cast is buying into. Is the Gokey Gang a voting block on Idol now? I believe that if your favorite gets voted off and you have no more favorites left in the competition -- you simply stop voting.

The whole idea that Danny Gokey's fans became the kingmaker this year is precisely why the post-Idol discussion has turned so negative. It paints a picture that Danny Gokey's fans are out for revenge, either because of religious-bias and homophobia or railing against the pimping of Adam Lambert who had been Danny's rival from the beginning.

This whole reverse-reasoning analysis bothers me. I don't think the average American Idol viewer is that cynical. If a Danny Gokey fan continued voting in the finale and chose Kris, it's because they were also fans of Kris Allen nothing more.
