Adam Lambert Still in the Running for American Idol Judging Spot?

Adam Lambert says he is still being considered as a judge for season 12 of American Idol.  Could Adam Lambert join Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey on the judging panel, or is it just wishful thinking on Adam's part?

Mariah Carey seems to be the one "sure thing" in terms of next season's Idol judging panel, with several sources claiming Minaj is all but a done deal to join her, but the rumor mill is abuzz with suggestions that the producers want two guys to balance out the panel and Randy may be moving to a mentoring role.

While Lambert was reported as one of the early candidates for the job, I haven't seen his name mentioned lately.  The show has been reported to be courting Nick Jonas and also to have considered country star Keith Urban and Latin artist Enrique Iglesias as potential additions to the judging panel.

However in an article by Australia's Herald Sun, Lambert is quoted as stating, ''I am still waiting on the green light; I am still being considered as far as I know and it was really lovely to talk with them.''

Lambert said he was confident he could juggle the demands of his own career and help steer aspiring pop stars through the show.

The Trespassing star who is in Australia to promote that album would join Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj on the revamped judges panel for the next season.

''I am still waiting on the green light; I am still being considered as far as I know and it was really lovely to talk with them,'' he said.
