Adam Lambert says media speculation of sexuality did not cost him Idol win

First of all, I apologize for all these flip-flop headlines. By the reaction of some of the comments, it seems that it's been a roller-coaster ride for Adam Lambert fans here on Rickey.org. I'm extending the olive branch and apologize if we've come across as insensitive recently. It was not intentional, but I am sorry. In the end, we'll get over the pain. I've been depressed for a 48 hours now, but I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel! Weather the hurricanes people! There are no boundaries!
So this is a clip from Larry King Live on CNN. Ryan Seacrest asks Adam Lambert whether media speculation of his sexuality had anything to with him coming in second place. Adam says that it was more of him and Kris being different from each other that affected the viewer's choice. Kris then added that they wanted it to be about the music and not personality.
If only that were true in real life right? People vote for who they like -- no matter what reason. However, I believe the anti-vote is not a big factor on this show -- only on the water-cooler discussion afterwards. We vote hundreds of times because of our love for a person, not because of our hatred for another. To acknowledge that would be to acknowledge that viewers that vote like the kids at Vote for the Worst are a big factor on this show.
